Libertarian party in Georgia (Girchi) says that, it will be handing out Tesla Model 3 cars every year for the duration of four years to those who will cast their votes in the upcoming 2020 Parliamentary Elections on 31 October.

"Girchi" has launched a nationwide raffle to encourage all voters, irrespective of their political views and party preferences, to go to the polling stations and vote. Party supporters say that this campaign is a form of a political activism which serves two goals. First, to increase voter turnout on the election day, which "Girchi" sees as the key for defeating the ruling party "Georgian Dream". Secondly, "Girch" wants to stage a protest against public funding of the political parties.

Zurab Girchi Japaridze, one of the Party leaders, explains that once they are elected into the new Parliament, which Mr. Japaridze is confident about, Girch will introduce a bill abolishing the law sanctioning any public funding for political parties.

We believe that each politician and political party shall be financed only by their respective supporters and voters. Upon election into the new Parliament, Girchi will launch a bill to this affect and until it is adopted, the Party will keep purchasing Tesla cars with the public funding allocated for Girchi annually and will award them to the random voters with a raffle-ticket who prove that they have voted on 31 October 2020. We are trying to appeal specifically to the youth so that more young people become interested in the politics and take active part in shaping it for the betterment of their own future.

In total, how many Tesla will be drawn in next 4 years depends on how many votes "Girchi" will receive, and consequently, how much will be the annual budget funding for party as defined by the law.

Raffle rules read:

• Check that, your name is in the master voter list published by the Central Election Committee, check the number and address of your polling station.
• Register for a Tesla project on the "Girchi" portal  www.girchi.com. 
• On 31 October go to your polling station and cast your ballot as you desire and deem necessary.
• Take selfie at the polling station so, that the station number is visible and then post it on your Facebook wall before 21:00.
